Artist Commentary:
Andy and I started hanging out and going to cabarets and clubs such as Reno Sweeney, Trudy Heller’s, the backroom of Max’s Kansas City, and having dinners at the Algonquin. I was never a ‘Factory boy’; it was a true friendship. I think he liked that I was never starstruck, and we respected each other as artists. He would always tell me I was ‘one of the most creative people he had ever met.’
