Artist Commentary:
This march was three years before Roe v. Wade was passed. Those times were really an act of desperate courage.
All the movements of the time—the gay liberation movement, the civil rights movement, the women’s liberation movement—helped push the needle forward, and I knew it was important to document them. I was a part of those communities and was going to the marches and demonstrations not just to take photographs but also to advocate for change.
