"The Pointer"

Hand-colored etching published in 1801 by Bunny & Gold, London, transferred on glass. Depicting a pointer in a landscape setting, inscribed The Pointer, set within a figured mahogany frame.
Bearing label on reverse: "The engraving being glued, print side downwards, onto the glass, the paper is then so treated that the ink alone appears to be on the glass. Afterwards, the artist applies his colour from the back in a natural way."
