Pierre D’Avesn
Pierre Gire, aka Pierre d'Avesn (1901-1984) began creating at 14 years old for Rene Lalique. During his ten years there, he designed Lalique's famous "Serpent" vase as well as the "Tourbillons" vase, two of the most highly priced and extremely collectable pieces.
In 1926, he left René Lalique and created his own models. His pieces were then made by Cristallerie de Saint-Rémy. Later he worked for both Daum Freres and Verlys until the end of WWI. From then on, his pieces were made by Cristallerie de Choisy-le-Roi (Sèvres).
The works made by Pierre d'AVESN are increasingly sought after because of his high quality design and fabrication.
